Studio D’Artisan’s D4609 jacket combines their signature natural indigo denim with traditional Kyoto Kurozome overdyeing, resulting in a deeply saturated black with a uniquely soft hand. The 13.5oz selvedge fabric is woven from Texas cotton and garment-washed for comfort right out of the gate, showing early signs of puckering and creasing. Over time, the deep black exterior fades to reveal hidden layers of indigo, creating dramatic tonal shifts that set this piece apart. The cut is a modern take on the Type II with a boxy silhouette, slightly tapered shoulders, and functional updates like hand-warmer pockets and waist tab adjustments.
