Lot 3104 - Flannel Shirt E Pattern - Navy O/W

The Lot 3104 flannel is Warehouse doing what they do best, recreating vintage fabric from the yarn up. This isn’t about chasing “selvedge flannel” as a gimmick. The selvedge is simply proof of the method. The real story is the power loom.

Woven on old-fashioned power looms in Japan, this twill flannel preserves the uneven character of the yarn, just like vintage shirts from decades past. Modern high-tension looms would flatten that texture and strip away the depth. Here, the uneven yarn remains intact, giving the fabric subtle movement and life. Multicolored yarns are woven in complex shuttle sequences to build the “E” pattern, then the fabric is brushed on the back in period-correct fashion. The brushing softens the surface visually and physically, building volume and enhancing that unmistakable power loom texture.

Selvedge is used in the gussets just like vintage flannels through the 1960s. One wash means it’s ready to wear immediately, with the structure already settled.
