Lot JG-10 - 1920s-1932 Winter Hunting Coat - Gray Plaid

John Gluckow is a vintage clothing collector representing America's East Coast. Having spent his early days as a designer with a global fashion brand, John knows what he's doing. He's taken that knowledge and partnered up with one of our favorite brands, Warehouse. This is the start of what appears to be a long-term relationship. They've designed some vintage garments with an eye towards contemporary fashion.

We regularly kick ourselves for missing a piece from a previous season. It's what keeps us up at night. But, sometimes we get a second chance at glory and we think that's what we've received here. The Winter Hunting Coat comes from John Gluckow's extensive vintage collection and stems from a 12-year period in which this gorgeous coat was made in Maine. This iteration is a wonderful blend of black, gray, and blue which creates a more formal look to be dressed up or down based on the occasion. It features numerous pocket details throughout and a quality of overstitching that we rarely see on wool garments. The collar is one area that sticks out in particular. The fabric features not only this incredible vertical stripe/check pattern but little bits of fabric fleck imbued in the wool. This thing is a texture lover's wet dream.
